Our Procedures For Conducting An Investigation

Preliminary Client Interview
Prior to any investigation, it is necessary for one or two members of IGI to meet with a prospective client. This is to enable us to gather information on the location as well as provide the client with the necessary requirements that IGI has.

During the interview, we will ask for the specific details on the location which will include:

What type of activity is being experienced.

Where and when it is happening.

Who it is happening to.

History of the location, if known by the client.

IGI will also need to know the most convenient time we can come into the location to conduct our investigation. Depending on the schedule of the client, we generally investigate in the evenings and at night. We will need to investigate more than once to ascertain if there is anything truly paranormal happening and to prove or disprove the claims.

Conducting an Investigation
Once we arrive, we will discuss with the client any recent activity that may have occurred since the preliminary interview. Note will be made of any additional activity or locations for the investigation.

We will then set up our recording equipment throughout the location, focusing on the spots where the activity is being experienced. Care is taken with all setups to ensure that nothing is compromised.

When the setup is complete, we will begin our walkthrough investigation with handheld equipment. We never use Ouija boards. While we may occasionally ask for a client’s assistance during an investigation we prefer to work quietly and independently to ensure accurate results. The client is free to silently observe but may provide additional input during the investigation if the occasion arises. If you choose to be present and observe, we require the number of people present to not exceed 2. This is to protect the integrity of the investigation and any evidence obtained.

Once it’s determined that enough data has been gathered, we end the investigation.

Offsite review
Taking the data gathered during the investigation, we meticulously review for any evidence. All findings are reviewed with a skeptical eye to rule out natural causes. This includes audio, video and meeting with the IGI team to discuss any personal experiences. Any evidence obtained is gathered together for the final presentation to the client.

Reviewing data is time consuming so a client’s patience is appreciated. Once review is complete, the final presentation is scheduled.

Final presentation to the client
After a few investigations, we will schedule a meeting with the client to go over evidence, if any, gathered. This is an opportunity for the client to ask questions or express concerns about such evidence and whether any additional steps can or should be taken. This is where IGI will discuss any follow up investigating that may need to be done. Confidentiality and maintaining a relationship with a client is of our utmost concern as is providing further assistance if required. If requested, a copy of the evidence will be provided.

All meetings and investigations are free of charge. IGI will never ask a client for financial assistance.
